Questions about building with me
Do you build both the app and the backend?
Yes. I build the whole stack, from database, API and web app to Android app and servers, so one person is accountable for how it all fits together.
Flutter or React Native?
Flutter for most Android apps, especially offline-first ones. I have also shipped React Native (Expo) and Capacitor apps where sharing code with an existing web app made more sense.
Can the app be in Amharic?
Yes. My apps ship Amharic and English interfaces, and I maintain habesha-names, an open-source library for matching Ethiopian names across Ge'ez and Latin spellings.
Where will it be hosted?
On a VPS or your own server with Docker, behind Traefik or nginx and Cloudflare, with CI/CD deploys and automated backups. I have kept financial platforms at 99.9% uptime.
Do you work with startups and companies abroad?
Yes. I work in English and Amharic, as a full-time remote engineer, freelancer or consultant, from Addis Ababa (East Africa Time, UTC+3).
